Abstract

The Aircraft Hydraulic Actuator Assembly project focuses on the design and development of a hydraulic actuator used to convert hydraulic pressure into controlled mechanical motion in aircraft systems. Hydraulic actuators are widely used for operating flight control surfaces, landing gear, brakes, steering systems, and other aircraft mechanisms where precise and reliable movement is required. In this project, a detailed 3D CAD model of an aircraft hydraulic actuator assembly is developed by designing major components such as the cylinder body, piston, piston rod, seals, mounting brackets, end caps, and hydraulic connections. The dimensions and component arrangement are selected according to the required stroke length, operating pressure, load capacity, and installation requirements. The complete components are assembled using appropriate CAD constraints to ensure proper alignment and movement. The assembly can be evaluated using motion simulation and structural analysis to verify piston movement, component interaction, and structural strength under operating loads. Interference and clearance checks can also be performed to identify potential assembly problems before manufacturing. The project aims to develop a reliable and compact hydraulic actuator assembly capable of providing controlled linear motion with high precision. The design can be further optimized by modifying cylinder dimensions, piston diameter, rod diameter, material selection, mounting configuration, and sealing arrangement. Overall, the Aircraft Hydraulic Actuator Assembly project demonstrates the application of CAD modeling and simulation techniques in the development of an important aerospace mechanical system. The proposed design provides a foundation for further analysis such as pressure analysis, fatigue analysis, leakage evaluation, dynamic simulation, and experimental validation to improve the actuator's safety, reliability, and performance.
