Abstract

The rapid growth of internet technology and the increasing penetration of smartphones have transformed traditional retail practices, leading to a significant shift toward online shopping platforms that offer convenience, accessibility, and wider product selection. This project, My Mini Mart, presents the design, development, and implementation of a fully functional e-commerce website aimed at providing small and medium-scale retailers with an affordable and efficient platform to establish their digital presence. The primary objective of the system is to facilitate seamless online transactions between customers and vendors through a secure, user-friendly, and responsive web interface that supports essential e-commerce operations including user registration and authentication, product catalog management, shopping cart functionality, wishlist management, order processing, payment integration, and administrative control. The application is developed using open-source technologiesto ensure cost effectiveness and scalability. The frontend is designed with HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap 5 to deliver a responsive and mobile-friendly user experience across various devices. The backend is implemented in PHP 8, which handles server-side logic, session management, and database interactions. MySQL is used as the relational database management system for storing and managing data related to users, products, categories, orders, and reviews, with proper normalization and indexing to ensure data integrity and optimal query performance. Security measures such as password hashing, prepared statements to prevent SQL injection.
