Abstract

Cloud computing has transformed data storage, providing scalable and on-demand solutions for individuals and organizations. However, accidental deletion, hardware failure, and cyberattacks pose significant risks to critical data. Efficient cloud-based backup and recovery systems are essential for data availability and reliability. This study presents the design and performance evaluation of a cloud-based backup and recovery system that integrates incremental backup, block-level deduplication, and encryption for optimized storage and enhanced security. Backup speed, storage utilization, and recovery time are measured under varying workloads. Experimental results demonstrate improvements in storage efficiency, faster backup operations, and reduced recovery time compared to conventional full backup methods. The proposed system ensures data integrity, confidentiality, and scalability in cloud environments. This framework provides a reliable solution for secure enterprise data protection while minimizing operational costs and downtime.
