Abstract

Industrial automation plays a crucial role in improving productivity, reliability, and safety in modern manufacturing environments. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are widely adopted due to their robustness, flexibility, and real-time control capabilities. This paper presents the design and implementation of a PLC-based automation framework tailored for smart industrial systems. The proposed framework integrates industrial sensors, actuators, and communication modules to achieve efficient process control and monitoring. Emphasis is placed on modular system architecture, realtime response, and fault handling mechanisms. The system is designed to support scalability and Industry 4.0 requirements. Experimental validation is carried out in a simulated industrial environment. Results demonstrate improved operational efficiency, reduced manual intervention, and enhanced system reliability. The proposed framework proves to be a cost-effective and practical solution for smart industrial automation.
