Abstract

The rapid digitization of public services has motivated the adoption of electronic voting systems; however, concerns regarding security, transparency, and trust remain significant. Traditional online voting systems are centralized and vulnerable to manipulation, cyberattacks, and data breaches. This research proposes a blockchain-based online voting system to enhance electoral security by leveraging decentralization, immutability, and cryptographic mechanisms. Blockchain ensures that votes are securely recorded as immutable transactions, preventing unauthorized alterations. Smart contracts automate vote casting and counting while enforcing election rules. The system also preserves voter anonymity and enables public verifiability of election results. Experimental evaluation demonstrates improved resistance to tampering and enhanced transparency compared to conventional systems. The proposed solution aims to build trust and integrity in modern digital electoral processes.
