Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are widely used in industrial monitoring, smart cities, healthcare, and environmental sensing. However, they are highly vulnerable to security threats such as data tampering, eavesdropping, and node compromise. Traditional security mechanisms often fail due to the resource-constrained nature of sensor nodes. Blockchain technology provides a decentralized, tamper-proof, and transparent mechanism for secure data management. This research proposes a blockchain-integrated framework for robust data security in WSNs. Each sensor node records its data transactions on a lightweight blockchain network, ensuring integrity, confidentiality, and traceability. Smart contracts are employed to authenticate and authorize communication between nodes. Simulation results demonstrate improved security and minimal performance overhead. The proposed system is evaluated based on latency, throughput, and attack resistance. Integration of blockchain in WSNs enhances trust, prevents unauthorized access, and ensures reliable data transmission. The methodology offers a scalable and energyefficient solution for secure IoT and WSN applications.
