Abstract

The rapid growth of defence research and missile testing activities has increased the need for efficient and automated scheduling systems. Traditional manual scheduling methods depend heavily on spreadsheets and human coordination, which often leads to scheduling conflicts, inefficient resource utilization, and delays in defence trial planning. These systems also lack integration of critical environmental factors such as tide conditions, which are essential for safe and accurate firing operations. This paper presents the design and implementation of the Défense Automated Firing Scheduling System, a web-based intelligent platform developed to automate and optimize the scheduling of defence firing trials. The system integrates scheduling of firing activities, resource allocation, location management, and environmental data such as tide conditions into a unified framework. It provides an interactive calendarbased interface that allows defence officials to plan, monitor, and manage firing trials in real time. The proposed system includes automated conflict detection based on time, location, and resource availability, along with an intelligent rescheduling mechanism that suggests alternative slots when conflicts occur. By integrating environmental and operational parameters, the system improves decision-making, reduces human error, and enhances overall efficiency in defence operations. The system also ensures better coordination between multiple departments by providing a centralized and consistent scheduling platform with real-time updates.
