The Hospital Management System (HMS) is a comprehensive web-based application developed using PHP and MySQL. The system is designed to automate the various administrative, clinical, and financial operations of a hospital. It aims to replace manual, paper-based processes with a fast, reliable, and efficient digital platform. In the modern healthcare environment, managing large volumes of patient data, doctor records, laboratory results, pharmaceutical inventory, and financial transactions manually is not only timeconsuming but also error-prone. This system addresses all these challenges by providing an integrated software solution that streamlines hospital operations. The Hospital Management System supports multiple user roles including the System Administrator and Doctors. The Administrator has complete control over all modules such as patient registration, employee management, payroll processing, equipment inventory, pharmaceutical records, laboratory management, surgery records, accounting, and report generation. Doctors can log in to manage their patients, view prescriptions, access lab results, and update patient records. The system is built as a multi-page PHP web application with a responsive front end using Bootstrap 4, HTML5, and CSS3. The back end uses PHP 5.6/7.4 with a MySQL database (hmisphp) that contains 17 well-structured tables. The database stores all data related to patients, doctors, vitals, medical records, laboratory tests, prescriptions, surgery, payrolls, pharmaceuticals, equipment, vendors, and accounting. Key features of the system include patient registration and discharge, inpatient and outpatient management, patient vital signs recording, prescription management, laboratory test and result management, medical records, surgery/theatre management, employee payroll processing, pharmaceutical inventory, equipment tracking, vendor management, and financial accounting.
