Abstract

Productivity in construction projects remains a critical challenge due to dynamic site conditions, fragmented workflows, and limited real-time visibility. Digital Twin technology has emerged as a transformative solution by enabling realtime synchronization between physical construction assets and their virtual counterparts. This study presents a comprehensive framework for analyzing construction productivity using Digital Twin technology integrated with sensor data, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and data analytics. The proposed approach facilitates continuous monitoring of resources, activities, and performance metrics, enabling early detection of inefficiencies. Experimental validation is carried out using simulated construction project scenarios to assess productivity improvements. Results demonstrate that Digital Twin–based monitoring significantly enhances labor productivity, equipment utilization, and schedule adherence. The study highlights the potential of Digital Twins to support data-driven decision-making and improve overall project performance. The findings contribute to the advancement of smart construction practices in modern civil engineering projects.
